Dribble Winning Eleven PS2. i think u mean L1+R1 get u into tat sideway dribble, then u press direction to speed past the defender at his side, is this wat u trying to say?
so it is 2 actions, L1+R1, then direction + R1.
if not, it maybe other actions that trigger using d-pad only which only work when defender close in, whether u press L1+R1 or not. 1 example is the heel flick, the one tat change direction with the player heel. in 2009 it only happen when defender is close.
in the first place, the sideway dribble is simulating how real life players take on defenders on the flank, making it easier to cross & cutting into the box. nt sure they removing this becos of the 360 dribble but i do lik this sideway dribble as it is often used in real life soccer (although less chances to use again top level AI/players)
anyone else try the 720p settings? the ps3 ver maybe not tat big diff but i try the v-sync off in the pc demo the gameplay become too fast & not realistic.

- If you are a couple of meters away from the box, don't hold anything.
3. Watch the player run up to the ball. Right before he strikes the ball, press and hold left or right on the analog stick, to curve in that direction. The curve is stronger if you press it as late as possible, right before the foot hits the ball.
4. Watch how the ball flies into the net, and feel glorious!
I score high % of free kicks this way with Theo Janssen of Ajax, but it works with all good kickers.

Pro Evolution Soccer always had free-kicks (it is a football game after all) and almost always I was awful at them. It came as no surprise when I saw the Dead Ball Expert trophy, I had to write off my chances of getting the platinum trophy completion for this game. The task is simple in theory (score five direct free-kicks) but painstakingly difficult to execute in-game.
This "guide" aims to give a few pointers to gamers that have been asking me about this particular trophy and how I eventually got it. Looking back on it, it's not something I'd do again any time soon.
